If last night's NXT had a theme, it was closure. Johnny Gargano secured his at TakeOver: New Orleans, where he not only vanquished Tommaso Ciampa, but won his job back in the process. Now, the best babyface in the game has his sights firmly focused on Aleister Black and the NXT Championship, though his wife still had one last problem to take care of.

Candice LeRae met Zelina Vega in the night's main event. A logical extension of the Gargano/Almas rivalry, the duo's own bad blood has boiled over several times in recent months, with Candice leaping to her partner's aid every time Vega inevitably stuck her nose in the NXT Title rivalry. It continued on house shows, with Candice and Johnny regularly teaming to face the villainous duo, and last night, it all came to an end.

LeRae put Zelina away in a three-minute main event. Solid and functional, it served its purpose, and concluded with the memorable visual of Mr. & Mrs. Wrestling trapping Almas and Vega in simultaneous Gargano Escapes, closing the book on their feud. An effective little epilogue, and a logical way to send all four parties off in new directions.
