4. Extremely Basic
No one watches the Usos for quality wrestling, but there really is a point where they’re just phoning it in.
Jimmy and Jey teamed with LA Knight to take on the MFTs in an impromptu six-man tag that served as more of a warmup for the babyfaces and angle advancement for the heels. The match itself was extremely forgettable, save for Jey nearly overshooting his opponent on a suicide dive to the floor.
Other than that, the match basically didn’t exist. It was there. It happened. And then it faded into the ether. The Vision didn’t even bother to show up to add tension. Rather, the big forward-looking selling point was Tama Tonga arriving late for Solo Sikoa to get distracted and cost his team the match.
The six-man tag is slated to open WrestleMania 42 on Saturday, meaning it’s the tone-setter for the weekend. WWE is counting on yeeting and yeahing to carry the day, with IShowSpeed providing some mainstream attention during the televised portion first night. To quote Dodgeball: “Bold strategy, Cotton. Let’s see if it plays out for ‘em.”
