6 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE Raw (21 Sept - Results & Review)
3. Not His Best Work, But…
Even a solid B effort on the mic from LA Knight can entertain and get a point across simultaneously.
Fresh off dropping Roman Reigns after Raw went off the air last week, Knight came out to acknowledge the Tribal Chief for defeating Penta on his own and trying to win his title matches solo. The Megastar even acknowledged Roman’s greatness as possibly the greatest champion of this generation.
But Knight returned to a favorite (and valid) gripe: Reigns has never beaten him cleanly in a one-on-one match. If Roman wants to rewrite his legacy by “doing it on his own,” he needs to defeat LA by himself at Money in the Bank.
Despite Roman and everyone else making sure he’s not in the plans for the world title, crowds have kept him in the conversation as the uncrowned champion. Surprisingly, Knight also headed off the usual criticism by noting that he knows some fans don’t believe this will happen because he’s come up short so often in the past, but he’s a self-made man in WWE and will parlay that into a title.
Honestly, this wasn’t LA Knight’s best performance. He stumbled a couple of times, and he meandered a bit, but the guy always seems to manage to find his way back, keeping the fans along for the ride. Besides that, it’s kind of tough to build a program for a world title when the champ isn’t here.
