UPS…

6. Trying To Make Nice

The slow progression of the relationship between Becky Lynch and Stephanie Vaquer might frustrate some friends, but it reflects how two alpha females likely would react in this situation, and how difficult it would be to trust someone who spent a full year holding herself above everyone else.

Lynch approached Vaquer backstage before Stephanie's WWE Women’s World Championship match, offering a helping hand to deal with The Vision during La Primera’s match. She pointed out that there were five members of Judgment Day, and any one of them could distract the ref while the others maul her. Vaquer demurred, noting that every time she’s had to rely on a partner, they’ve turned on her.

Becky clearly tried to stress the benefits of strength in numbers, but Vaquer wasn’t ready to make that commitment… yet. There is mutual respect but also a desire to do this on her own.

Odds are that they’ll figure it out soon enough, but watching them struggle to come together sounds like a good, realistic journey. Lynch needs to prove herself to Vaquer, and then – and only then – will we get a team-up.
