No, this column isn’t rooting for Sami Zayn to keep getting beat up, but he wasn’t the one who desperately needed to make a statement Monday night.

After suffering a humiliating defeat and losing his WWE Universal Championship at Fastlane, Kevin Owens needed to get back on track on Raw. Owens did just that in his match against Zayn, hitting a Pop-Up Powerbomb, somersault legdrop, package neckbreaker and a second Pop-Up Powerbomb for a very convincing win.

Owens lost his title in about 20 seconds Sunday night, so winning in such a strong manner reinforced that he’s not a joke. Of course, not losing in 20 seconds would have helped dispel that notion, but WWE isn’t exactly operating like a well-oiled machine these days.
