6. Mick Foley Falls Out With Vince McMahon Due To Criticism
Watch any show Mick Foley announced on with either Jim Ross or Michael Cole in 2008, and it's pretty clear he hated the commentary gig. A genuine WWE legend, Foley had literally given blood, sweat and ample tears to the promotion over the years, and he felt he was due some respect as a result. Sadly, even for all his sacrifices, he wasn't treated any differently when wearing the announcing head set. Roaring instructions and feedback through the microphone backstage, Vince McMahon was getting on Mick's nerves more and more with each passing show. It's obvious in Foley's expression during these appearances that he wasn't having a lot of fun. Upon leaving the company just a few months after taking up the position, the veteran revealed that he couldn't stomach the in-ear abuse. Apparently, McMahon wasn't a fan of Foley's work as an announcer. It takes a special kind of person to keep listening, whilst simultaneously conveying clear messages to the millions watching at home on television. Mick Foley didn't have that skill, and didn't take kindly to the idea of being told how to talk during a pro wrestling show.
