7 Big Things Shane McMahon Could Do To Shake Up WWE

2. Bring Back The Brand Split

Fans seem to be a bit torn on whether they want the brand split back. On one hand, there€™s half the star power on each show, but on the other hand, you don€™t have to see Big Show twice a week. I think that automatically gives the nod to splitting them up. Part of the brand split€™s problem was that Vince just messed with the rules whenever he felt like it. The split was exciting at first when a SmackDown only Kurt Angle and Raw only Shawn Michaels would compete against each other, but seeing a mid-carder take on another mid-carder with no build watered down the idea of keeping them apart. Vince also didn€™t bother giving each brand its own identity, and wouldn€™t even let each show have its own director, with Kevin Dunn pulling double duty. Both shows largely felt the same for the majority of the split. When Ric Flair had Raw, and Vince ran SmackDown it was the only time the idea really made any sense. Without different owners, there didn€™t seem to be much of a point. They could try and recapture that vibe again with Shane having control of Raw, and Hunter and Steph owning SmackDown. If WWE gave fans a reason to watch both shows, and stop overexposing so much talent, it would greatly benefit the overall company.
