7 Future Main Event Wrestlers In WWE
2. Shinsuke Nakamura
We knew it would only be a matter of time before Shinsuke Nakamura would headline a PPV. Initially, the powers-that-be seemed reluctant to push him early on in his SmackDown run. But things have changed, and now he's set to face Jinder Mahal for the WWE title at the main event of Hell in a Cell.
This apparent change in pace by creative seems to be a result of both a lack of strong baby-face opponents on the blue brand (after Orton) for Mahal, and a clear realisation that Nakamura is a wrestler who shines at his brightest when he's perched on the top of the card. His wild showmanship and over-the-top personality need the bright spotlights of the main event to do him justice.
A major title, and a main event run as the number one guy on SmackDown, will also legitimise the hype that's followed him everywhere he's gone. Mainstream wrestling fans will then finally understand why the 'King of Strong Style', deserves his rightful place upon the WWE throne.
