3. We Are Living In The Upside Down

Tuesday's edition of SmackDown was headlined by one of the more bizarre closing segments in recent memory.

In it, Randy Orton finally exacted revenge for Bray Wyatt's mundane backstage attack in August of last year. Such relatively mild transgressions of wrestling conduct - it's not as if Wyatt dropped Orton on his head thirty feet in the air from a forklift - are usually dealt with one or a series of wrestling matches. Instead, Orton barged his way into the Wyatt Family, destroyed the bond between Wyatt and Luke Harper, helped Wyatt win loads of matches, all with the ultimate objective of defeating him for a title he was nowhere near the orbit of at the time.

Dropping the facetious facade, the storyline resonated quite well, and gave Orton something entirely new to do. The two men shared a certain chemistry - one Orton broke during Wyatt's "Invocation Ceremony" on Tuesday.

Much like his trusty RKO, the development arrived from out of nowhere. Orton escalated matters very quickly by exorcising the ghost of Sister Abigail, Wyatt's dead relative and coping device, and burning down his godd*mn house. Who was the heel, and who was the face? Orton's actions were nowhere near warranted. But hey, it looked cool n' spooky, so there's that. It was actually far more entertaining than it had any right to be - and Wyatt had it coming, having engaged in three years of similar psychological torture - which is more than one can say for the other time WWE ruined a perfectly good babyface this week.

On RAW, Bayley channelled Daniel Bryan circa late 2011 and crowed, annoyingly, about being a paper champion - as if what she achieved was a fair achievement. Bayley, once the most beloved babyface in all of wrestling. The RAW creative team has turned BAYLEY heel.
