7 New Directions For WWE After Night Of Champions 2025
7. A Midcard Bloodline Dominating
Say hello to Solo Sikoa's erm...absolutely gigantic friend.
Hikuleo hit the WWE news headlines a while back after working a match before SmackDown went live, but he debuted as Tala Tonga at Night Of Champions. What's more, the big man came across as somebody totally capable of roughing up babyface wrecking ball Jacob Fatu, and it was his interference that led to Solo winning the United States Title.
Tonga Loa’s earlier return during the same match means that Sikoa has yet another group backing him up. Toss JC Mateo into that mix (he was tanking in the role on his own) and Jacob will have to find friends of his own fast. He has something cooking on that front with Jimmy Uso, so you have to believe Jey will be involved somewhere down the line too as well.
For now, it’s Solo and troops who’ll dominate the SmackDown midcard, at least until Fatu regains the United States Title. One can see that happening in some sort of gimmick match at SummerSlam, so...Jacob vs. Tala at Saturday Night's Main Event? Or maybe it'll be Solo and Tala vs. Fatu and Jimmy on that TV special. Either one works, but the tag seems more likely.
Those who didn't like Sikoa's fairly dominant run as a wannabe Roman Reigns last summer might not like what's coming next. He'll cut a few lengthier promos on Friday nights to put over his newly-assembled 'Midcard Bloodline' and build towards another match with Jacob.
Fans should expect Tala to play a major role in things.
