4. The Brackets Are Lopsided

When the brackets were announced for the 2015 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, they brought with them a whole lot of intrigue. The second round gave us Enzo & Big Cass against Joe & Balor. Would NXT's most popular team be able to defeat its two biggest stars? The answer was no, but it was intriguing.

Elsewhere, then-NXT Champions The Vaudevillains lost to The Mechanics in the second round, throwing the entire bottom half of the tournament wide open. Rhyno & Corbin eventually came through that half, but before that you could make an argument for Gable & Jordan, The Hype Bros, even Gargaon & Ciampa.

The 2016 brackets look a little lopsided in truth. All the established teams find themselves in the bottom half of the draw. Looking at the top half we have a weird mix of new teams and thrown together ones. Surely it would have been more exciting to space some of the others out a bit, maybe even give the Authors of Pain the top half to establish even more dominance?
