7 Things We Learned From Paul Heyman On The Lost Episode Of The Steve Austin Show

By Brad Hamilton /

7. He's Trying To Break Into Hollywood

The interview takes place at a house Heyman is renting in the Hollywood hills, with the two wrestling icons chatting on a rooftop. Paul said that he usually spends a few August weeks in LA, the home of SummerSlam for the past several years, so he can knock out his business in California while he's in town for WWE's #2 event. Heyman says he has thus far been unsuccessful in his attempts to "impose himself on the movie business". He wrote his first script in 2003 and had it optioned by New Line Cinema, but the studio had a different vision for the project and Paul and his partner opted to pass, fearing the damage a bad first impression from a failed attempt would do. Then it was shifted to a different studio who had the same problem, and Heyman stepped away again. He said he felt confident if they waited for the right time people would come knocking and that's what's happening for him now. The master of the Heyman Hustle says he feels that the key to hustling in Hollywood is to come at them from a different angle - honesty. Something that he says he isn't very well-versed in.
