2. Sandy Fork Becomes Planet Jarrett

AEW

A just-about-perfect slice of pro wrestling comedy found Jeff Jarrett, Jay Lethal, Satnam Singh and Sonjay Dutt visiting Mark Briscoe's farm in Sandy Fork to help out with chores, entertain the children and woo Papa Briscoe whilst barely covering their real (and sinister) motivations.

Pitched magnificently, the heels made clear their strategy at last - befriend Mark in order to get intel on how to beat FTR for the AEW Tag Team Championships, but Briscoe himself was sublime at playing just naive enough to make them think the plan was working. Papa Briscoe swallowing absolutely none of their bullsh*t was one of the many highlights, as was Jeff Jarrett almost dusting off "With My Baby Tonight" in a campfire moment.

Bringing together some superb characters that have an impeccable understanding of their characters and how to do wrestling comedy, this felt like peak TNA comedy mixed with AEW warmth and wit, and served its purpose from a business perspective too - the Double Or Nothing tag team title clash will be super-heated, particularly if Jarrett et al have cruelly grown tired of sucking up to Briscoe by then.
