7 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite (3 May - Review)
1. Sammy Guevara & MJF Vs Jungle Boy & Darby Allin
A quality (if predictable) main event saw Double Or Nothing's main event story finally get back on track after Jungle Boy Jack Perry and Darby Allin vanquished MJF and Sammy Guevara, putting paid to the uneasy and doomed alliance between the heels in the process.
Memphis stuff but all the better for it, working the heat over illegal use of MJF's scarf was the sort of agenting that inspires yet more hope that the power might well be creeping back. Sammy Guevara's inevitable turn following dissension in the ranks got him the most over he's been in this story so far, and the seeds of discontent MJF attempted to sow during the broadcast failed to sprout until the fall was registered.
There's been lots of justifiable criticisms about how long and winding the road to this inevitable match graphic has been, but upon arrival at the destination everything finally clicked. With three Dynamites left before the show, keeping it simple could and should be the way to preserve this renewed faith.
