7 Ups And 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Feb 5)

1. Men Earn, Women Get

Let’s get this straight: 12 men had to compete in singles matches to land one of the six slots in the Elimination Chamber match for a WWE Universal Championship match at WrestleMania.

Meanwhile, GM Kurt Angle on Monday simply named the five women who will compete against Alexa Bliss in the women’s Elimination Chamber match. No qualification necessary.

That was just a bit unfair, don’t you think? What qualifications did Angle use in determining who would get a title shot? Why was Mandy Rose chosen over Alicia Fox? What has Sonya Deville done to deserve a shot instead of Dana Brooke? And why was Nia Jax excluded from a title match to be given a match that if she wins, she merely gets a title shot in a triple threat?

The easy answer is that there aren’t 10 women on the Raw roster to compete for those five spots. But a simple answer to that would have been to contact a couple legends who just competed in the women’s Royal Rumble. It would have been believable if Molly Holly and Michelle McCool entered the fray and came up short. And hey, wouldn’t a match between Molly and Bayley have made for a cool moment?
