7. Crews Turning A Corner?

It’s strange to consider a loss to the Miz a positive step forward, but when you’ve been treated like cannon fodder for so long, any improvement could be considered a positive.

In this case, Apollo Crews had a really competitive match against Miz on Monday night, battling the Intercontinental Champion for a spot in the Elimination Chamber. Crews got to show off a lot of his skills, including his standing moonsault/shooting star press combo that used to finish matches.

A year ago, Apollo would have lost in about half the time (or less) and not gotten to hit half of the moves he did. While Crews might not be destined for superstardom, getting a chance to do more than be a named geek who loses quickly is a step forward. Maybe, just maybe, it’s the first step toward Apollo doing something.
