Normally, a two-minute womens match would get a down, but in the context of Mondays match between Becky Lynch and Naomi, it made perfect sense. After being jumped outside in the parking lot earlier, Becky wanted revenge. She also knew shed have to strike quickly with Tamina on the outside. Lynch assaulted Naomi with rapid-fire forearms and kicks, then knocked Tamina down before rolling Naomi into the Dis-arm-her for the submission victory. (Kudos to Naomi for her rapid jump kicks, which looked impressive, but werent hitting solidly.)Beckys quick win worked within the storyline, and then of course her reason were borne out afterward when Tamina attacked and the numbers game proved to be too much, until Sasha Banks intervened. So yes, there are occasions when a short match can make perfect sense, and you arent short-changing the performers.
