3. The New Dudleys

The transformation of the Dudley Boyz from a table-obsessed, lovable tandem to two angry men was a bold but necessary one. The group got a shot in the arm last week, and it looks like it could be working already. D-Von hit the nail on the head right away Monday night by noting that fans thought they were just going to be some nostalgia act that got it€™s moment in the spotlight and then rode off into the sunset. But the Dudleys, he said, aren€™t some Guns N€™ Roses farewell tour or two relics from the past, they are the baddest tag team on the planet. That short promo basically laid out exactly why the Dudleys turned heel €“ not because of some watershed moment, but because they knew they were going down the road of the nostalgia act and weren€™t ready to phone it in yet. Bubba Ray said they were nine-time WWE Tag Team Champions, and that defines them a lot more than some piece of furniture, which is why the tables are no longer an offensive option.Just one short criticism: If we€™re getting a new attitude from the Dudleys, they should change their gear. Bubba Ray wore jeans and a shirt on Smackdown, and maybe they should both look at doing that more often.
