Talk about an out-of-left-field win. Summer Rae, who hasnt had a televised match since June 2015, upset two-time Divas Champion Paige Monday night in a match that was ignored almost as quickly as it ended. Does that sort of thing sound familiar? It sounds eerily familiar to how womens wrestling was treated before the so-called Divas Revolution: women wrestle in short matches that go nowhere and end in a rollup of some sort, while the results are instantly forgotten. Summer tried her best to look convincing, and the match itself wasnt terrible, but fans sat on their hands unless Paige yelled to them that this was indeed her house. Otherwise, it was really quiet. But probably the biggest indictment was Paiges reaction afterward. Summer hadnt won since April 2015 even longer (June 2014) if were talking on Raw. And Paiges reaction to losing to someone who hadnt won on Raw in 20 months? She kinda shrugged her shoulders as if to say, Oh well.It was just awful all the way around. Its not like Summer Rae is suddenly going to be considered a contender for Charlottes Divas Championship. It probably will be forgotten next week, making this even more perplexing. But hey, we had a Divas Revolution here, so everything is fine.
