7 White-Hot Wrestlers That BURNED OUT Overnight

4. Velveteen Dream

Velveteen Dream was one of the most popular superstars to ever pass through WWE's third brand. Most talent that made their way to the top in NXT were already established indie superstars, but the Dream was a homegrown WWE product who not only had the chops to thrive in NXT, but was everything you could want from a main roster superstar.

Of everyone on this list who nuked their own career, Velveteen Dream's is perhaps the most extreme. In April 2020, pictures of the man born Patrick Clark Jr surfaced online, along with allegations that he was using those images to try and groom underage boys. This was later followed by more allegations that Clark had been sending images to an underage girl, as well as messaging several other minors inappropriately.

The man who played NXT's Velveteen Dream would face further criminal charges in subsequent years for trespassing and first-degree battering, as well as another charge of possessing drug paraphernalia. WWE had no option but to dismiss Velveteen Dream, and a man who was being tipped as a potential future WrestleMania main eventer had self-destructed in the most lamentable and deplorable ways possible.
