When Kurt Angle's WWE career began in late 1999 he used a theme song that most fans were already familiar. That's because we heard the song regularly two years earlier when The Patriot was using it.The Patriot was a guy that wrestled under a mask that was pro-American. He would carry the US flag to the ring, wear gear promoting America and generally doing all he could to represent the United States. His WWE career didn't last too long, but they did push him pretty hard as a rival to Bret Hart during his anti-American run in 1997. Angle's character was that of an American hero, so the patriotic song really fit him. Unlike the Patriot though, Angle was a heel character. Within a couple of years, fans added in the "you suck" part for Angle's song and I'm sure that if Angle ever returns to WWE again the fans will remember to chant along with it.
