7 WWE NXT Takeover Main Event Matches - From Worst To Best
7. Kevin Owens Vs. Sami Zayn - NXT Takeover: Unstoppable
The second match between Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn wasn’t bad by any means, but there were a number of things that made it a lot less significant than the first, and overall less enjoyable.
We did get to see the debut of Samoa Joe right after the match, which was something we never thought we’d see take place in a WWE ring, but as for the Owens/Zayn bout, it was kind of disappointing compared to the first match.
The fight itself was a lot shorter than we’ve grown accustomed to in NXT main events. Sami Zayn brought way more offence this time around, taking the fight to Owens with a vengeance, but the end result was sudden and too obvious.
Owens won when he took Zayn out with a pop-up powerbomb on the ring apron, and we haven’t seen Sami since. The shoulder injury suffered shortly before the match made it easy to predict that Zayn wouldn’t emerge victorious in this one, and that Owens would find a way to write him off TV for the time being.
it wasn’t bad, but I do think it was the weakest out of all the NXT special main events so far. There has to be one, right?
