Vince McMahon revealed on Monday Night RAW that The Undertaker would be Shane McMahons opponent at WrestleMania, and the match would be the nefarious Hell in a Cell contest, known for its brute force and barbaric savagery. Since when does The Undertaker take orders from Vince McMahon? Well, overlooking that whole Corporate Ministry phase, of course. Everybody has growing pains, right? Everyone has been wondering exactly when The Undertaker will hang it up and call it a day for some time now, and retiring in his home state of Texas at the biggest show of the yearthe event that he was known for throughout the entirety of his career, no lessseemed to be a logical finale for the Dead Man. But now? Facing off against, if were being honest here, a non-wrestler? Were not so sure. Rather than thinking of this through the lens of finality, perhaps this is setting up another story for Taker altogether? Might The Undertaker, midway through a hellish, bloody battle with the younger McMahon, decide that allowing Shane to win would be better for the company? The concept of a McMahon knocking off The Undertaker in his preferred match at his preferred event irks me to no end, so a mid-contest change-of-heart would bring the best story to the forefront without tarnishing the legacy of one of wrestlings greatest treasures and icons. Perhaps a returning star will interferes to cost Taker the match? One thing is certain: the intrigue of the bout itself will have wrestling fans on the edge of their seat for those near-falls.
