In 2013, CM Punk took on Brock Lesnar in arguably the greatest SummerSlam match of all-time. Punk, who had returned after time off following his WrestleMania XXIX loss to The Undertaker, was meeting Brock Lesnar, who had just come out of a long feud with Triple H (that didn't exactly set the business on fire). He needed a new opponent, and the perfect one was linked to his advocate, Paul Heyman. It started at Money in the Bank, with Heyman's turn on Punk, which led to Lesnar's subsequent attack. As SummerSlam approached, Punk and Lesnar traded attacks until their showdown in Los Angeles, where both men gave as much as punishment as they could take. The size difference between them was illustrated perfectly by Brock Lesnar's incredible offense. Punk might as well have been luggage the way he was tossed around with fall-away slams, and belly-to-belly suplexes. The MMA hold transitions, and savage use of steel chairs swung this contest from one extreme to the next. The story concluded when Punk decided retribution on Heyman was more important than paying attention to the most dangerous man in WWE. This match re-wrote the book on big man versus little man matches, was superior to anything WWE produced in 2013 and also proved to be CM Punk's last great moment in WWE.
