3. Match Of The Year?

Kurt Angle vs. The Undertaker on the 3 March episode might’ve been SmackDown’s best match all year in 2006. Together, the famous pair worked a rematch from their No Way Out classic that went almost half an hour before the disqualification finish. The screwy ending might tarnish it for some people, but they’d already worked a clean finish on pay-per-view.

This was just a fantastic World Heavyweight Title bout. It was one of those occasions where fans can sit back afterwards and say the main event was everything it was hyped up to be going in. That doesn't happen 100% of the time. The fact Angle vs. 'Taker happened on the same night Tatanka beat Booker T and Animal teamed with Matt Hardy vs. MNM made it even better.

SmackDown was lawless back then, eh?!

Behind the curtain, ‘Taker was finally taking Kurt seriously after not being chuffed about working with him in 2000. They had a duff encounter at Survivor Series that year which is best known for Undertaker's awful ring attire and the way he manhandled someone who'd already become WWF Champion.

Not a banner night for either man then, but they'd make up for it around 5 1/2 years later. No Way Out was borderline greatest WWE matches ever territory (or therein thereabouts), but people who enjoyed it shouldn't sleep on the SmackDown repeat. That was every bit as good, at least before the finish if you don't like DQs.
