Jon Moxley is the first name people mention when talking about AEW's best-ever signing. He is always engaging, he knows who he is and where he's going at all times, he's been a valiant babyface, a dastardly heel, and even when he's somewhere between the two (as he is currently), Moxley is one of the most perfect all-round performers in wrestling.

This is worth remembering because the last few years of Dean Ambrose were miserable. His wacky antics were so misguided, and Vince McMahon and his creative team had misunderstood Ambrose's character and motivations so badly that he often felt like Art the Clown had been cast in the MCU. It wasn't that Ambrose's performances were bad. It was more that the things he was being asked to do didn't fit the psychotic, loose-canon personality he portrayed at his best.

From trying to suffocate Bryan Danielson with a plastic bag to him leading The Death Riders like a sadistic drill sergeant, nothing Moxley has done at his best fits the cuddlier WWE landscape. No matter how badly you might think you want a Shield reunion, Jon Moxley has found his groove and is exactly where he is supposed to be.
