8 Ups & 3 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Nov 6)

2. Andrade Almas: Fluffer

It's time to accept that Andrade 'Cien' Almas is probably just a jobber to the stars now. The guy only ever seems to show up to lose to big names, and while he frequently looks decent in the process, he's too good to be the fluffer warming upper-midcarders and main eventers up a couple of times a month.

This isn't a call for an immediate push to the stratosphere, but it is a call for a more meaningful role. Last night was his first match in over a month. Prior to facing Rey Mysterio, there were weeks when it felt like he was Zelina Vega's secondary, not the other way around. This despite being one of the absolute best wrestlers in the world on his day, and a potentially money-making heel when supported by his outstanding manager.

Almas has been on the main roster for six months now. His ascension is long overdue, the "wait and see" argument has lost its juice, and it's about time the company slotted him into a more credible role. A United States Title run would be a start, although WWE probably aren't going to book a heel vs. heel programme for SmackDown's secondary title.
