8 Ups & 3 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Nov 6)
1. Sloppy Execution Hampers Survivor Series Build
The idea of the women's Survivor Series team being unable to get along is fine in a vacuum, but loses juice when almost the exact same thing is going on with the men, and last night's developments felt messy.
General Manager Paige showed up to unveil the team. Carmella, Asuka, Naomi, and Sonya Deville were all presented to the crowd, before Charlotte Flair let her music play out without hitting the ring. Mandy Rose interrupted with a microphone, questioning why she wasn't on the team after eliminating Sonya from the Evolution battle royal. Her unconvincing diatribe continued on the ring, with the other wrestlers all falling into her crosshairs, prompting Naomi to spring a brawl that the rest of the women had to break up, before the segment closed on a Deville/Rose face-off.
Splitting the former Absolution duo is fine, but none of this was particularly well done. The reveals were underwhelming, Mandy didn't come off confident on the microphone, and the brawl was sloppy. Back to the drawing board.
