A reminder that Big E is absolutely great at this pro-wrestling thing.

Although he's excellent as The New Day's goofy powerhouse, glimpses of his true brilliance usually only materialise in his fleeting singles opportunities. One of those came last night.

We'll touch on the match with Randy Orton later, but Big E's thrust began with an interview shortly after 'The Viper' had beaten Kofi Kingston down, with Kayla Braxton quizzing the former Mr. Langston. All stone-faced and serious-looking, E got real. He promised that while his buddy, the WWE Champion, will be ready to go by Clash of Champions, he couldn't say the same for Orton after their bout, and that was that.

Short as hell this promo may have been, but E's change of attitude really helped sell the situation's severity. It was pitch-perfect.
