1. Hendry's Time To Shine
With the creation of WCPW, audiences have been introduced to quite a few largely unknown talents, especially to fans outside of the UK. These are men and women without WWE and TNA experience, but are vital “homegrown” talent who will be needed to be pushed as top stars in the company.
And while you may not have thought Hendry would main event the first WCPW pay-per-view, he ended up being a solid pick to battle Kurt Angle in the biggest match in the their history.
The video before his match was top notch. It helped us understand what he's really like, and let us get to know him on a more personal level. He came across as genuine, likable guy who was finally reaching his dreams.
Angle was his usual great self in the match. While he’s an extreme part-time talent right now, and 19 years Hendry’s senior, he proved that he’s still a world class worker. It would have been nice to see the two go another 10 minutes, but that can be said for pretty much any Angle match.
Having a major star like Angle battle Hendry, who put up one hell of a fight, was a great way to top off the event, and should help solidify The Local Hero as a top act in WCPW's future.
