9 Reasons Roman Reigns Topped PWI's Top 500 Wrestlers 2016

8. Overall Wrestling Ability

Roman Reigns is not terrible in the ring. He’s really not. He’s not Dean Malenko, or Tiger Mask or Ricky Steamboat. Everyone can agree on that. But on the other hand, he’s not Ultimate Warrior, Sid Vicious or The Great Khali. He’s actually much closer to the first set of wrestlers than the second.

Now Roman does have some annoying quirks to him. He dishes out way, way too many Superman Punches, and his facial expressions are kind of goofy, but he’s improved in the ring to the point where he’s been in some great matches.

He is the one usually being carried, but he’s done a solid job of holding his own against A.J. Styles, Sheamus and Finn Balor during the past year, as well as being in nothing really embarrassingly bad (give or take a WrestleMania 32 main event).

If PWI's rankings were just overall wrestling ability alone, he wouldn't be in the top 100, but his decent-to-pretty good ring work didn't keep him from being number one.
