9 Reasons Roman Reigns Topped PWI's Top 500 Wrestlers 2016
3. His Quality Of Competition
If people look at WWE from a kayfabe perspective, in that they employ the best fighters in the world, then Roman dominating there makes him look like the best of the best. To give the man some credit, he didn’t spend his entire year steamrolling jobbers, as he took on former US, Intercontinental and WWE Champions, and pretty much beat them all.
Among his victims were Rusev, Alberto Del Rio, Sheamus, Triple H, Dean Ambrose and A.J. Styles. He beat the current WWE Champion in a pay-per-view main event, and he beat Kevin Owens, the Universal Champion, 4-out-of-4 times when they faced off in tag matches.
While Roman lost cleanly to Finn Balor, that was after the time period ended, so really, the man faced the best the company had to offer, and stood tall over them.
