6. Powerhouse Hobbs Vs Miro

Better in the building than on television but so good in the building that the atmosphere came through the screen and elevated the action, Powerhouse Hobbs and Miro's beef-slapper delivered on its obvious promise and provided a welcome surprise with yet more "meat" on the bone.

A hoss fight for dominance of the AEW midcard, Miro's victory over the inexperienced Hobbs was foreshadowed when the 'Bulgarian Brute' won fist and aerial fights alike early in the encounter. The former TNT Champions may have experienced similar highs and lows in All Elite Wrestling, but the 'Best Man' has simply been at this longer, and winning here was as much about preserving his aura rather than subsuming that of his opponent's.

The post-match offered a quality bit of business too - CJ Perry's debuted to rescue her husband from a beatdown, but all wasn't rosey in the former Rusev's garden. Having disavowed her very existence before tonight, he did so here. Their eventual reunion playing out as a warped Savage/Liz down the line will be worth the wait.
