9 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE NXT (Jul 27)
3. Robert Stone Costs Monet And Kamea
It's still not been made crystal clear precisely what Franky Monet's plans are when it pertains to the Robert Stone Brand. However, a quick look at a backstage conversation a week ago seemed to suggest that she sees potential in Jessi Kamea and wants to use said star to help her pick up her first piece of NXT gold in the form of the women's tag titles.
However, if the pair are serious about climbing to the top of the ladder, they may need to consider a few personnel changes if last night's tag team bout against Kayden Carter and Kacy Catanzaro was anything to go by.
As Monet looked to be putting the finishing touches on an explosive display in-between the ropes, equipped with a particularly vicious draping DDT, Stone decided that now was the time to aid his new ally with his new murse. Sure enough, this ill-thought-out plan resulted in disaster instead of devastation for his pals and Monet was soon put away with the KC's outstanding 450-splash/neckbreaker.
Stone already appeared to be on thin ice with Monet over the last few weeks and this latest blunder will no doubt speed up the process of elimination from her plans going forward. Kamea also looks like a star to watch, with her unmatched size and obvious athleticism both giving her a decent platform to build on going forward. Hopefully some of Monet's shine rubs off on Kamea in the coming months and Stone's stink doesn't stick to her fledgling character.
