Its rare that you will ever see a debut for a 50-year-old wrestler, but thats exactly what happened Saturday when Jushin Thunder Liger competed in his first WWE match as part of NXT Takeover. A 30-year ring veteran, Liger is best-known for his work in Japan but had competed in the United States with WCW, Ring of Honor and TNA, but never WWE. Tyler Breeze had the unenviable task of playing second fiddle to the Japanese legend, but he not only held his own, he pulled out a couple innovative moves during the opening contest. Breeze is a guy who probably wont be main-eventing WrestleMania, but he showed that he deserves a spot on the main roster when the opportunity is right.Liger managed to hit enough signature spots to keep the crowd cheering along. If this truly was a one-shot deal, then it was a treat for the fans. But as legendary as Jushin Liger is, NXT is supposed to be about the future, and hopefully this performance will lead to bigger and better things for Breeze.
