7. The Hardest Part Of The Ring

It’s hard to keep track, but the superstars had a near-obsession with the ring apron at SummerSlam.

Almost every match had a highspot on the apron. Just off the top of the head on the apron:

Jeff Hardy crashed and burned with a Swanton Bomb attempt.

Dolph Ziggler hit a DDT on Seth Rollins.Samoa Joe wiped out AJ Styles.

Shinsuke Nakamura hit a kneedrop.

It felt like the superstars saw Velveteen Dream hit a DVD and Purple Rainmaker on the apron at TakeOver and decided that it looked like a good idea. But aren’t there supposed to be agents who prevent repetitious spots throughout the show?

They must’ve taken the night off.
