AEW All In Texas: Latest Booking Notes & Backstage Talk Ahead Of Major PPV (AEW News)

With All In Texas only a matter of days away, there's now somewhat of a backstage update on how things are coming together for this latest hotly anticipated AEW PPV.

Per Fightful Select, a couple of All In matches have been planned for "quite some time", whilst others were tentatively pencilled in for the event, but ultimately plans changed.

In terms of specifics, Kenny Omega vs. Kazuchika Okada has been in the works as far back as last year, with it also the long-standing plan for this to be a title unification match at All In that would bring the International Championship and the Continental Championship together. Likewise, AEW Women's Champion Toni Storm vs. Mercedes Moné is another All In bout that's long been planned, with that something that started to come together during the early part of the year.

One match that isn't happening at All In is the much-rumoured reunion of Christian Cage and Cope to face off with FTR. While that was the plan earlier this year, those plans have since changed. At least for now, with there still plenty of speculation that we'll be getting that match at a PPV a little further down the line, which itself follows recent reports that Christian is keen to have a proper conclusion to the Patriarchy storyline before fully switching his focus to a reunion with his long-time best friend-turned-bitter rival.

Additionally, for those who may have missed it last week, Tony Khan has now confirmed that the reason All In isn't running from London's Wembley Stadium this year is due to Coldplay having booked that venue several years in advance for their upcoming tour. In fact, Coldplay have Wembley booked for a mammoth ten dates between 22 August and 8 September.

Previously, the past two All In events have taken place on 27 August 2023 and 25 August 2024, both of which fell on a public holiday weekend in the UK. The equivalent for this year would be Sunday 31 August, which is a date that falls bang in the middle of Coldplay's Wembley shows. There's no word on why AEW didn't look at alternative dates for All In at Wembley, particularly with the PPV this year taking place in July rather than in its traditional late-August slot.

Emanating from Arlington, Texas' Globe Life Field, AEW All In 2025 takes place this Sunday.
