AEW All Out 2023: 10 Nightmares That Could Come True

Welcome to everyone's AEW All Out nightmares. Chicago's gonna hate it!

By Jamie Kennedy /

Some who bought tickets in advance for All Out probably hate it already because CM Punk won't be there. Those same folks might be cursing Tony Khan for suspending their hero following that backstage scrap with Jack Perry, then they'll rewatch All In with jealous eyes knowing Punk vs. Samoa Joe happened inside Wembley Stadium.

That might not be the only downer on Sunday.

Positivity? Pah! Who needs stinking positivity when there are so many nightmares lurking in the shadows waiting to ruin everything? All Out might be one of the weakest supershow cards in AEW history already, and questions are being asked about why the company planned pay-per-views on consecutive weekends in the first place.

Brace yourselves for unwanted title changes, the complete annihilation of a homegrown star's promise, one of the most bizarre gimmick matches nobody expected to see in 2023, illogical turns and more horror shows from a promotion that can't really afford any.

If all of this happens, then that post-show press conference could be interesting. TK might even produce more meme-worthy facial expressions that keep us all going for another 12 months.

10. AEW Wastes TNT Title Potential

First of all, here's something worth saying: Darby Allin is fantastic in the underdog babyface role, and he could easily have worked the same fighting champ International Title magic Orange Cassidy has been doing since last year. However, Darbs winning the TNT gold again would be stupid.

Luchasaurus turning on Christian Cage (either because Cage can't control the monster or because the big dinosaur is sick of his rubbish) should be AEW's long-term plan. Like, that literally needs to happen at some point - it's too easy a story to skip, and would be akin to Tony Khan missing an easy lay-up.

Allin doesn't need to "three-peat" just yet.

All Elite has landed on something special with Christian being a top class d*ck, and they shouldn't spurn that just to book a quick title switch at All Out. There's no sense in taking the belt from Cage/Luchasaurus quite yet. Let their story breathe!
