AEW Confirms Iconic Wrestling Stipulation For The First Time At All Out 2026 (AEW News)
It's not TLC, it's...CTL? AEW has announced a classic WWE gimmick match for All Out 2026.
Adam Copeland and Christian Cage will defend their AEW World Tag-Team Titles in a 3-way match at All Out on 26 September. On Wednesday's Dynamite, the legendary pair admitted that the finish to their bout vs. The Young Bucks at Wembley Stadium over the weekend didn't sit right with them, so they have plans.
Effectively, it'll be a 3-way TLC match, but AEW isn't calling it that. Instead, Cope said there'd be "chairs, tables and ladders". So...CTL? That doesn't really have the same ring to it as tables, ladders and chairs. It doesn't roll off the tongue quite so well, and the match has officially been named a 3-way ladder affair.
At least for now.
Naturally, simply being dubbed a ladder bout doesn't stop any of the teams involved from using other weapons and props. Has Tony Khan got cold feet on poaching the TLC branding? That is closely tied to WWE, after all, so he might believe it isn't the best idea. However, it's also linked to Copeland and Cage, because they were in the original TLC matches back between 2000-2001.
The iconic duo defeated FTR in a gritty 'I Quit' showdown back at Double Or Nothing in May. Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler also have significant history with The Young Bucks, meaning this looks like one hell of a tasty trio. Cage and Cope vs. FTR vs. The Bucks has been confirmed.
Will Ospreay defending his newly won AEW World Title vs. Jon Moxley is the only other match announced for All Out at time of writing.
