AEW Going "Full Steam Ahead" On Steven Borden After Dynamite Debut (AEW News)
Expect Steven Borden to become a regular part of AEW TV.
Having made his official AEW in-ring debut last week, it looks like Steven Borden is set to become a fairly regular presence on AEW programming from here on out.
Per Fightful Select, AEW intends to go "full steam ahead" for Borden as an in-ring talent.
That formal AEW debut saw the 34-year-old team with Darby Allin to pick up a win over Josh Alexander and Mark Davis on last week's Dynamite. Borden has been training for the past few years, particularly training under the tutelage of Darby, and he'd actually already wrestled 27 matches for AEW prior to that Dynamite tag bout. However, those 27 matches were all non-televised dark matches as part of Dynamite and Collision tapings.
As for his general in-ring debut, Steven Borden's first match was back in October 2025, teaming with JD Drake in a loss to Darby Allin and Killer Kross for ACW out of New York City.
The son of Sting, Steven - and his brother Garrett - was, of course, a part of his father's retirement match at Revolution back in March 2024, where he was dressed very much like the nWo Wolfpac version of Sting. From various interviews, it was supposedly his involvement in that Revolution contest that sparked a real interest in pursuing a pro wrestling career. Having become a more regular figure on AEW TV in recent weeks, the second-generation star also got himself involved at All In last month, sharing a moment with his old man during the Darby Allin vs. Kevin Knight match, culminating in Steven performing a crossbody to the outside of the ring from a ladder in the ring.
