Fightful Select is telling fans that ex-WWE star Kairi (Sane) has been in talks with AEW management about a possible jump to the promotion. Indeed, there had been rumours that Kairi would even debut in the company come All In at the tail end of August, but that clearly didn't happen in the end.

"That isn't for lack of effort", Fightful reports.

The website also revealed that "there are a number of companies currently interested in the Japanese star" following her WWE departure this past April. Rather confusingly, Sane left WWE behind in the midst of a storyline involving her old Damage CTRL stablemates IYO SKY and Asuka, which didn't sit well with a lot of people and make some elements of the story feel incomplete.

That was Kairi's second WWE exit - she'd previously worked for the promotion between 2016-2021.

Interestingly, international groups are keen to tie Kairi down to a contract, but Fightful doesn't think she'll sign on the dotted line with the Dream Star Fighting Marigold promotion in Japan. AEW appears to be her first choice, but it's also worth noting that Tony Khan and All Elite top brass didn't factor Kairi into their booking plans for Wembley Stadium at any point.

They had a lot to chew over, in fairness, and there were never any guarantees that the former Kabuki Warrior would be coming in and joining the AEW roster.

She is, however, expected to land in AEW at some stage. Talks have happened, and it seems as though negotiations are ongoing.
