The Hardest AEW Quiz EVER

Is your wrestling knowledge Elite?

The promotion that changed the world, AEW, launched in 2019.

The challenger brand to WWE, AEW set about attracting a set of fans disillusioned by mainstream wrestling. The fan that AEW targeted was hardcore. They knew about the storied career of founding father Kenny Omega. They followed the independent careers of the Young Bucks, tracking the lore of the dense, critically acclaimed Elite saga. When a new name arrived from a different promotion, their debut was greeted with a huge pop. These fans, raised on traded tapes and torrents, knew what to expect.

In 2020, the former Revival, FTR, jumped ship from WWE. Fans immediately buzzed over the prospect of a feud with the Young Bucks, because this had long been teased on social media and the YouTube series Being The Elite.

After finally striking a relationship with NJPW, AEW fans again rejoiced ahead of the inaugural Forbidden Door PPV in 2022. They had fantasy booked inter-promotional matches since AEW’s very inception. It was a chance to watch the stars of the coolest promotion of the 2010s clash with the company that would promote the best, most mind-blowing wrestling matches in the world a decade later.

AEW celebrates the deep history of pro wrestling, most recently with a loving tribute to WCW founder Ted Turner. AEW once referenced a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it WWE backstage segment when building a rivalry between MJF and Samoa Joe. AEW once promoted a match held for the niche Regina Di WAVE title on Rampage. You’d think, then, that such a learned bunch would sail through this quiz with ease.
