AEW Roster "Miserable" At Dynamite (AEW News)
It was a tough and gruelling night for AEW wrestlers on Wednesday's 'Beach Break' Dynamite.
Both Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer have revealed how "miserable" many on the AEW roster and staff were with the conditions for Wednesday's special 'Beach Break' edition of Dynamite. According to Alvarez and Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the temperature made working the show insufferable.
"It was f***ing hot, I was told", said Alvarez.
Dynamite took place at the BayCare Sound Outdoor Amphitheater, and temperatures soared to a mind-melting 100 degrees throughout the taping. That heat and humidity also affected the audience in attendance for the show - there would've been plenty of rushing back and forth to refreshment stalls for water, put it that way.
Meltzer said that the humidity on site was probably worse than the high temperature, because that would've added to the sweatiness around the place. Thankfully, the heat didn't stop AEW or Tony Khan from putting on a memorable show.
Kenny Omega beat MJF to win the AEW World Title and set up a surely-fab main event vs. Will Ospreay at All In over in London, England next month. Earlier, Kyle Fletcher had beaten Konosuke Takeshita to become the brand new International Champ. Other banner moments included Mick Foley making his Dynamite debut, as well as Willow Nightingale making her return to the promotion following an injury layoff.
AEW's weary men and women battled through the boiling heat to deliver a show worth savouring. However, a number of them clearly vented to Alvarez and Meltzer afterwards. Wednesday's scorching edition of Dynamite put the "melt" in Meltzer.
