AEW Suffers ROUGH Double Injury Blow (AEW News)
There was some bad injury news coming out of this week's AEW Collision.
Fightful Select has followed up on news coming out of this week's episode of AEW Collision regarding both Kyle Fletcher and Marq Quen. On the latter, the website reports that an internal source "implied that he sustained a tear of some sort". Meanwhile reigning TNT Champion (in his second run with the belt) Fletcher "was suspected to have sustained a meniscus injury".
These injuries look to have benched the pair for a significant chunk of time, which is obviously a huge downer for both. Quen and his Private Party tag-team partner Isiah Kassidy had only just returned to screens following a year long absence, and Kyle has been making excellent progress as one of the company's rising star names on the singles side.
There's no word yet on exactly how long either man will be on the sidelines, but things don't look good for them.
Unfortunately, Fightful also reports that Fletcher has suffered several other injuries alongside his meniscus tear, so those will need to be taken into account as well. Fingers crossed the layoff won't affect his push, but boss Tony Khan seems very high on Kyle generally. He should be alright in the long run, at least in terms of his status on the card.
Attention now turns to this week's episode of flagship show Dynamite. Khan will need to decide what he plans to do with the TNT Title, because it probably won't stay on Fletcher whilst he's recovering (especially if he's set to miss "significant time" due to this injury combo).
All the best to both workers.
