AEW's Big Summer Plans For MJF Revealed (AEW News)
AEW has big plans for MJF this summer...
Having recently lost the AEW World Title to Darby Allin, it appears that MJF has a big few months ahead.
Via the latest episode of Self Made Pro Sessions, there were initial discussions about doing a multi-man match involving MJF at Double or Nothing next month. However, those plans have changed, and it's now understood that the Salt of the Earth will instead be challenging Darby one-on-one for the AEW World Championship.
Interestingly, this match will feature a stipulation, although the specifics of that stipulation are not known yet, only that it's described as "notable."
On top of this, recent reports note that MJF will be a heavy part of AEW's creative plans throughout the summer, whether that means regaining the AEW World Title or being involved as a significant player in other ways.
Many fans have already speculated that Max could win back the AEW World Championship at Double or Nothing, with that PPV emanating from Queens, New York's Louis Armstrong Stadium, which is a stone's throw from MJF's hometown of Plainview, Long Island, New York.
As it stands, Double or Nothing - taking place on Sunday May 24th - only has one match that's made official as of this writing, which is Konosuke Takeshita challenging Kazuchika Okada for the Rainmaker's International Championship. Of course, we've another month yet to see how the full DoN card comes together, and AEW programming has already given an idea of where things could be going by the time this PPV rolls around.
