AJ Lee Wants Sensational WWE Return For Paige (WWE News)
A stunning WWE comeback for Paige/Saraya would be "heartwarming and healing" for AJ Lee.
AJ Lee has described the thought of old onscreen rival/real-life friend Paige returning to WWE as "heartwarming and healing". During an interview for The Takedown on SI with Rick Ucchino, AJ explained that she's always viewed herself as the Brit's "fairy godmother", so she'd love to see Paige follow in her footsteps by launching a sensational comeback.
Of course, Paige was cut loose by the company during the dying embers of Vince McMahon's control over operations in 2022. Triple H reportedly attempted to bring her back, but Paige/Saraya signed for Tony Khan's AEW instead and worked there for roughly 3 years.
Since leaving All Elite, Saraya has been incredibly candid about how much she misses the Paige character. In truth, she hasn't exactly been keeping her cards very close to her chest - the multi-time champ and former SmackDown General Manager fancies making up for lost time on WWE's side.
Lee is all for it. AJ knows all about grand returns herself. Her own comeback towards the end of 2025 was big news at the time, and she's gone on to claim the Women's Intercontinental Title as her own. Now, some fans wonder whether or not Lee will successfully retain that belt vs. Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 42 then face a familiar foe on the typically raucous Raw after 'Mania on the Monday night.
Older fans and historians alike will recall that Paige debuted on WWE's main roster with a bang by beating AJ for the Divas Title during the 7 April 2014 flagship. That was 24 hours removed from 'Mania XXX. Could history be set to repeat itself?
