Saraya On Potential WWE Return: "I Miss Paige So Much" (WWE News)

Could Paige be returning at WWE Evolution this weekend?

Nowadays a free agent after being released from her AEW contract earlier this year, Saraya is seemingly keen to return to her Paige persona in WWE at some point down the line.

Speaking on the latest episode of Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Saraya was full of praise for Tony Khan and how her AEW exit was handled. Feeling like there was nothing else left for her to achieve in AEW, apart from potentially wrestling Mercedes Moné, the former AEW Women's Champion approached Tony and suggested it may be better for her to leave the company rather than be paid to sit at home.

With Khan being in agreement on this matter, Saraya was allowed out of her contract and is now a completely free agent. So, when CVV asked about whether she could potentially appear at WWE Evolution this Sunday, the 32-year-old said she could realistically pop up in WWE "tomorrow".

Interestingly, when asked whether any Evolution appearance would be as Saraya or Paige, the two-time WWE Divas Champion said:

"Paige, 100%. I miss Paige so much. I tell people all the time."

Explaining the differences between her WWE and AEW personas, the inaugural NXT Women's Champion added:

"When I went to AEW, I didn't want to be close to my character in WWE because of the comparisons. Then I ended up being a chicken-s**t heel with AEW, which is all fine and good, but there's a ceiling to that. Whereas Paige, she's generational. I love her. She's badass, tough as nails, just screaming all the time. I loved being her. She was a fu**ing badass, and that felt like more of an elevated version of myself, rather than doing what I was doing in AEW. Again, that was my decision to be like that, but then I was, like, 'Damn, I wish I leaned more into my original character', but it is what it is. You live, you learn."

As pointed out by Saraya in this Insight appearance, she was technically a part of the first Evolution back in 2018, although she was in an on-screen authority role rather than an active talent at that point. Of course, that PLE took place at a time when the Brit was forced into retirement due to neck issues.

Since then, Saraya has managed to resume her in-ring career after being fully cleared, signed with AEW in the summer of 2022 - shortly after her WWE release - and returned to action against Britt Baker at Full Gear later that year. At All In the following August, the second-generaton star would capture the AEW Women's Title at Wembley Stadium when she won a four-way bout featuring D.M.D., Toni Storm, and then-champ Hikaru Shida.

Saraya announced her AEW exit this past March, with her looking to turn her attention to non-wrestling ventures, such as her Hell in Boots autobiography.
