Mia Yim was easily one of the most consistent performers in this year's tournament. Her opening bout with Sarah Logan was one of the best matches of the first round, as previously mentioned, and secured a second round matchup with Shayna Baszler.

The second clash was a great way to continue to showcase Baszler's submission-based dominance while simultaneously exposing some vulnerability. Yim looked to have taken control at various stages during the match - including a memorable sitout powerbomb on the larger woman - but eventually succumbed to a rear naked choke. The South Korean did exactly what was asked of her throughout, and has surely secured further dealings with WWE in the future.
