Fightful Select is reporting that Andrade's WWE dealings "officially came to an end around December 12". Previously, he'd been blocked from signing elsewhere due to a controversial one-year long non-compete clause that was in his contract with the market leader. Now, that's no longer a problem 'El Idolo' has to contend with, and he has Rush to thank for sorting things out.

The AEW man introduced Andrade to an attorney who fixed the issue and had the contractual clause waived. Further, this means that the Mexican star is free to sign on the dotted line with whomever he wishes in the near future. Andrade can also wrestle wherever he likes, which would explain recent appearances for both New Japan and House Of Glory.

Andrade's final WWE match came as part of a chaotic 'Six Pack' TLC bout at SummerSlam 2025. There, he teamed with Rey Fenix vs. DIY, Fraxiom, The Street Profits, Motor City Machine Guns and eventual winners The Wyatt Sicks. It was some way to go out, but there had been a poor taste in Idolo's mouth due to the way his exit was handled by management.

All's well that ends well on that front. Fightful noted that sources they spoke to a month or so ago didn't expect the year long non-compete clause to stand, and that's the way things have turned out. Unfortunately, leaving WWE means Andrade's visa has also expired, but that's also expected to be ironed out ASAP.

Andrade Expected To Sign With AEW

AEW

Khan's AEW remain in pole position to ink fresh terms with Andrade and end this saga once and for all. He did appear on the 1 October 2025 episode of flagship show Dynamite (which was a 6th anniversary celebration for the show) and joined the Don Callis Family by attacking Kenny Omega, but all booking plans were shelved due to the ongoing contract drama.

All Elite couldn't use 'El Idolo' for the final few months of the year due to everything else going on. Now, they'll be hoping he can sort out his visa issue pronto and put pen to paper on a new contract with the promotion. Everyone concerned will be hoping that things turn out better than they did during his first run in AEW between 2021-2023.

Andrade was visibly dissatisfied by his All Elite run towards the end of 2023. He then showed up as a shock entrant in the 2024 Royal Rumble over on WWE's side. Bizarrely, he'd suffer the same milquetoast fate under Triple H. Nobody seems quite sure how to use the man effectively.

Will things improve under TK in 2026? Only time will tell, but it looks likely he'll be #AllElite again sooner rather than later.
