A singles match pitting Darby Allin and Kyle O'Reilly against each other appears to be in the works for Sunday's AEW Double Or Nothing 2022 pay-per-view.

Fightful Select notes that the promotion could announce the match on tonight's episode of Rampage. Official confirmation hasn't come through yet, and, as always in wrestling, these things are in flux until they are rubber-stamped, so there's a chance that this could change between now and the pay-per-view.

Nonetheless, Fightful's report states that the bout had been discussed as a Double Or Nothing addition.

The match could follow on from the Undisputed Elite's attack on Sting and Allin on last week's episode of Dynamite, which saw O'Reilly go after the legend's ankle. That this injury has been cited as the reason behind Sting pulling out of the Double Or Nothing fan fest event would make this a straightforward, believable story for AEW to tell, with Darby seeking revenge for his mentor.

Kyle O'Reilly vs. Darby Allin being added to the Double Or Nothing 2022 lineup would bring the event's total match count up to 12. Whether or not the new addition would be positioned on the Buy In pre-show or main card is unclear.
